How to convert currency on the checkout page?

Yes, it is possible.

We can only convert at checkout if using Shopify Payments with enabled local currency for markets.

Why do we need to enabled markets?

As per Shopify policies, We are not allowed to make any modifications on the checkout page as of now. So we can't show local currency on checkout if Shopify market is not enabled on store.
