# How to test the widget before publishing?

There are **two easy ways** to test your UFE widget **without showing it to the public**:

#### 1. Test on an Unpublished Theme by enabling the UFE app extension

You can create a duplicate of your current live theme and test UFE there privately:

* Go to your Shopify admin and **create a copy of your live theme** (do **not** publish it).

* In the **copied theme**, enable the **UFE app extension** from the App Embeds section as given below.

* Now, preview your funnels directly on the **preview version** of that unpublished theme.

This method ensures your customers won’t see the widget until you're ready!

#### 2. Test on the Live Theme Without Publishing the Funnel

UFE is designed to make testing super simple — even on your live theme!

You can **test an unpublished funnel** by simply appending the following to your trigger product URL:

 `?ufe_preview=true` 

💡 **Example:**

`https://yourstore.com/products/sample-product?ufe_preview=true`

This works **even when the funnel is turned off** — as long as it's connected to the product.

Let's see this in action.

**As you can see the funnel is not turned on.**

Add the ufe add `?ufe_preview=true` to your trigger product url and hit enter.
